Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000
I bought the Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000 from Amazon.com back in December 2008 for $30 after shipping. I havent had a webcam since the original Logitech that I bought in 1999 and used for maybe 6 months. The major notible changes are the image quality and the built in microphone. There are several other makes and models out there near the $100 mark and I can't imagine why the hell such an expensive webcam would be required. I use this one for Skype and Google Video Chat on my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop, both services work seamlessly with a hassle-free installation and the bundled software is lightweight and only runs when the camera is plugged in. I havent noted any negatives and I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a cheap webcam.
